The rest of the story
Snow, snow, snow.
Well sprain and all I had to continue plowing because with a 4 wheeler and 5 foot plow you can only handle around 10 - 12 inches of snow. Well, I expected that my four wheeler would start this morning after the gas evaporated off the plug. But no such luck. I had to change the spark plug. But I had to drive to town to pick one up. So before I left for town I went to get the book on how to remove the plug. Low and behold, my type A personality actually saved me. There in the 4-wheeler file was a new spark plug for emergencies. I did not remember replacing it after the last change. So no trip to town. Yippee. So I changed the plug and still no go. So I put the charger on the battery for just an extra boost of power. That is when I noticed the kill switch was on. It was all the time. My glove must have brushed it over when I got off the machine when I finish plowing on Monday. It started and I did round 2 on
Tuesday. Now I am expecting to plow again on Wednesday. But it is quilting day at the church so I will go but watch the weather so I can get home okay. So that afternoon I removed snow. But it snowed the rest of the afternoon and into the night. Then Thursday I removed the final amount of snow. I got my 4-wheeler stuck in the ditch and had to use my pick-up to pull it out and bring it back into the yard. Now I need to tell you about cleaning off my roof. Read on tomorrow.

pledge drive
I was planning on helping with the Lakeland Public TV pledge drive. I have done it for the past two years. I had a very busy day with helping a friend attend her two doctor appointments and help her buy groceries. I picked her up at 9:30 and didn't get home until 12:30. By that time the snow was just about over so I got ready for the first round of snow removal. We are getting snow Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I finally finished all the snow blowing, plowing and shoveling by 3:30. But I tried to restarted my plow and it would not go. So I hooked up the truck to the plow and pulled it in the steel building. After unhooking it I was able to push it out of the way. I figured that I had fouled the plug and it would clear up by the next day or I would change it. That is when I slipped on a patch of snow by the doorway and twisted my ankle. After soaking my ankle in ice water I wrapped it with elastic wrap and propped it up. I applied heat and called in to cancel my place at the pledge drive. I really missed taking the calls. It is a fun thing to do. There is more story to my 4-wheeler not starting. Wait for a later installment of this story. As I am writing this story we are expecting more snow.

no joke
WARNING # 3:Some knew about the red light on cars, but not Dialing 112.
It was about 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her to never pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.
Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called, 112 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.
Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes.
I never knew about the 112 Cell Phone feature. I tried it on my AT&T phone & it said, "Dialing Emergency Number."
Especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going on to a safe place.
*Speaking to a service representative at Bell Mobility confirmed that 112 was a direct link to State trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about "Dialing, 112"
You may want to send this to every Man, Woman & Youngster you know; it may well save a life.
This applies to ALL 50 statesPLEASE PASS ALONG TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY, IT CAN SAVE A LIFE....
SITUATION..
While driving on a rural end of the roadway on Thursday morning, I saw an infant car seat on the side of the road with a blanket draped over it.
For whatever reason, I did not stop, even though I had all kinds of thoughts running through my head. But when I got to my destination, I called the Canton PD and they were going to check it out. But, this is what the Police advised even before they went out there to check....
"There are several things to be aware of ... Gangs and thieves are now plotting different ways to get a person (mostly women) to stop their vehicle and get out of the car.
"There is a gang initiation reported by the local Police Department where gangs are placing a car seat by the road...with a fake baby in it....waiting for a woman, of course, to stop and check on the abandoned baby.
"Note that the location of this car seat is usually beside a wooded or grassy (field) area and the person -- woman -- will be dragged into the woods, beaten and raped, and usually left for dead. If it's a man, they're usually beaten and robbed and maybe left for dead, too.
DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!!! DIAL 9-1-1 AND REPORT WHAT YOU SAW, BUT DON 'T EVEN SLOW DOWN.
Oh yeah, about the EGGS:
"IF YOU ARE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND EGGS ARE THROWN AT YOUR WINDSHIELD, DO NOT STOP TO CHECK YOUR CAR, DO NOT OPERATE THE WIPERS AND DO NOT SPRAY ANY WATER BECAUSE EGGS MIXED WITH WATER BECOME MILKY, AND BLOCK YOUR VISION UP TO 92.5%, AND YOU ARE THEN FORCED TO STOP BESIDE THE ROAD AND BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE CRIMINALS.
THIS IS A NEW TECHNIQUE USED BY GANGS, SO PLEASE INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.
THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES AND THESE ARE UNSAVORY INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL TAKE DESPERATE MEASURES TO GET WHAT THEY WANT."
Please talk to your loved ones about this. This is a new tactic being used. Please be safe.

Packing day
Monday was packing day at First Lutheran Church. We will be shipping our donations to Lutheran World Relief early in December. I helped with the quilts. We packed 37 quilts for shipment over seas. We packed just under 40 for distribution locally. Others worked on school kits. layettes, health kits and sewing kits. It always feels good to help others especially locally considering how cold it has been. After we finished packing we drove to all the places that we deliver quilts. Locally we give to Churches United, Peoples Church, Village of Hope and the Battered Women organization. It is fun to see the smiles on the faces of those who will be distributing them to those that need them.

Thanksgiving with friends
The three of us decided about a month ago that we would attend the Methodist Church Thanksgiving Dinner. So off we went to the church. It was surely fun. Food was good, conversation excellent and we had fun. I made a contact for motorcycling as we waited to go in. One of the greeters was a member of the Christian Motorcycle group from Bemidji. I now know how to contact them next summer. They go on a ride each month. I think I will enjoy them. The three of us had expressed the concern that we would not have any left overs this year. So Wednesday I made a turkey breast, potatoes, dressing, gravy and pumpkin pies. When we met at the church parking lot I gave each of the gals a goody box filled with none other than the traditional leftovers. What fun.
