David Kaupp, 68, of Bemidji, MN died, Monday, March 12, 2012 at Neilson Place, Bemidji, MN. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Yarger officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wed. March 14, 2012 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji, MN. David Howard Kaupp was born March 3, 1944 in Superior, WI to Howard & Martha (Petrell) Kaupp. He lived in Bemidji, graduated from Bemidji High School and attended Bemidji State University where he earned a double major in Science and Math. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and went to officers training school in Maryland and serving in the United States, Germany and Vietnam. He was involved in the planning of the re-assembly of the Fifth Army in Germany and served for 20 plus years. After retirement, he lived in Texas and then Bemidji. David enjoyed going to auction sales, fishing, hunting and golfing and spending time with his family. He is survived by sisters, Judith Lonnberg, Bemidji and Elizabeth (Mike) Schussman, Becida; nephews, Aaron Fredrickson, Becida, Rikky (Michelle) Fredrickson, Becida, Jamon (Natalie) Lonnberg, Jamestown, ND; great nephews, Kohen Fredrickson and Tallan Fredrickson; great niece, Paige Fredrickson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Martha Kaupp. |
