Wolves

I have had wolves in my yard during the night.  Any given night you can hear them howling.  Many areas such as the Clearbrook area have had 20 wolves relocated as they had over populated the area.  Friends of mine hunt that area and saw many wolves 2 years ago, but when they hunted this year that is all they saw.  No deer.  Now the State of Minnesota is proposing that trappers can have a go at them.  They will issue 400 license at $50 a piece.  People like Tim Ewert who I grew up with in my neighborhood is excited to finally get a chance to trap one.  "I am 61 years old  now, so I've waited 50 years for this," He said at a town hall meeting recently.  Dan Stark, a large carnivore specialist with the Department of Natural Resources spoke at that meeting. The meetings agenda was to get input to set the regulations.  Some people thought it was one to decide whether or not to trap.  Those people were not happy.  Farmers, ranchers, and trappers were in general agreement with the procedings.  Watch for this as it develops.  It is interesting as things go full circle.
