Thursday the First Lutheran Church had their pre-packing day. We are sending our donation to Lutheran World Relief on December 6th. We organized and packed 48 school bags. School supplies are put in a back pack that are made by our ladies. They contain 5 pencils, 5 pens, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, scissors, 4 notebooks, a ruler and a box of 24 crayons. I really like to pack the school bags. Then we organized the personal hygiene kits, baby layettes, and sewing kits.
We now know what is needed to complete those kits. The big items are the quilts and afghans that we have made. We hope to send around 50 to world relief and another 20 locally to 4 institutions in the Bemidji area. There was only 4 people who showed up for this pre event, but we had enough to get what we needed to done. I will continue this story on packing day.
