Homemakers council meeting

It was Hubbard Mothers turn to serve the snack at our council meeting.  We lovingly call our group Ole Mother Hubbards Cupboard.  Hubbard is for the county we are in and Mothers for what we are.  We are a fun group, but we are serious about helping our community.  Any way the Learning Circle council meets every two months so there are on 5 or 6 meetings a year.  Our speaker This meeting was the director of the Bemidji Public Library.   The library is a branch of the Kitchigami Regional Library.  Bemidji Library inter library lending is a great service to the Library patrons.  Of course, he is a true manager.  He talked about money for half his presentation.  Then he got to an interesting subject -- borrowing books an line which is a new feature coming. He talked a little about the homeless that use the library. He said the issue really isn't the homeless using the library, but the possibility of public drunkenness.  He has a procedure in place for handling that also.  The problem went from 4 calls to the police a day to" I can't remember when I had to call last time."  Nice to know.  He really applauded the book festival which is a yearly event.  You could hear the pride in his voice and in his discussion. All and all it was an interesting meeting.
