building garden art

Both the oar and the floats were found over the years washed in on the beach of the family cabin at Red Lake.  My folks bought the lot in 1950.  I bought it from them in the 1970's and then sold it to my brother in 1981.  The floats are off the nets that the Red Lake Indians use in Lower Red Lake.  The reservation line in upper Red is only 11 miles west of our cabin.  In the late 70's I spent four summers up at Red Lake.  Two and half months really got me rejuvenated to go back to work in the Fall.  I called the cabin The Anchorage and had painted a water scene on the oar and its name.  Tallan and I were pricing rummage sale items and we got the idea to make this structure.
