Knitters meet

First Lutheran knitters met for coffee and chatter at Wilda's home.  Her dessert was delicious.   Each person brings a new dimension to our group. Our discussions  are serious, funny, informative and interesting.  I for one really needed a good belly laugh and we had several.  One of the belly laughs happened when we discussed words, names and sayings.  One of our gals told us about her childhood the name for a chocolate nut sundae was Little Dick.   She said she ordered many of them.  You just went up to the counter and said "a Little Dick please."  You probably had to be there for it to be funny.  We really laughed.  But words do evolve over the years.  Off the top of my head is the word gay.  It use to mean a happy time.  I had a gay time.  Not any more.  There are many other examples of this.
Another story that was told was one gal worked as a soda jerk and a guy came in and asked for a male sundae.  She looked confused until he said with nuts.  Lol.
We plan to have coffee again in August.
