STRAW

What seemed like a wonderful idea this Fall turned into a big problems this spring.  My five bales of straw that I put on my sewer system to keep it from freezing is now a nightmare for me to remove and get it to the demolishion dump.  I have taken one load out there already.  At first I thought that I could bag it and easily load it in my pickup. Have you ever tried to put straw in a plastic bag?  But I had a load in no time and I have just the tip of the iceburg moved.  Now I am reduced to shoveling it in my pickup box.  Saturday morning I will be trucking that load out.  Only to return and hopefully load a second load and be done with it.  I skip my workout at Peak when I do yard work.  As I write this blog my arms really hurt.  I think of the old adage what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.    I do know that when I get near that demolistion dump I get the greatest urge to golf.  The dump is only a quarter mile from Maple Ridge where I golf.  Maybe as a reward I will hit a bucket of balls before I come home for my much needed shower.  I know our ancesters had it much harder than we do, but right now you couldn't prove it by me.  I'll be glad when this job is done.  I hope that next year we will have enough snow cover.

Saturday both the dump and Maple Ridge were closed.  I now have a truck box full of wet stinky straw and have to try to empty it Monday afternoon.  Then I still have one more load to go.
